Family, friends, and members of the Augusta, Georgia community are mourning the tragic and unexpected loss of 69-year-old Calvin Williams, who was found deceased in a pond along Gordon Highway on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 1200 block of Gordon Highway after reports of a body discovered in the water. Emergency personnel and investigators arrived at the scene, where the area was quickly secured as recovery efforts were carried out and an investigation was initiated.
The Richmond County Coroner’s Office later confirmed the identity of the deceased as Calvin Williams, 69, of Augusta. Officials stated that identification was confirmed through fingerprint analysis.
